John M. Buckman III, served as Fire Chief for German Township Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years. He served as State of Indiana Fire Academy Director for 15 years. He was one the founding members of the National Fire Academy Alumni Association, Volunteer and Combination Officers Section.
He served as President of the International Association of Fire Chiefs in 2001-2002. He is a photographer and an author with over 150 published articles. He is most proud of the title Grandfather.
